Axillary node clearance advice

Hi 

I had mx and reconstruction with expander 11 days ago.  I had my ANC drain removed 4 days ago when it was still discharging 100ml a day. The fluid is now collecting in my new boob and becoming pretty uncomfortable.  Anyone got any experience of how long this takes to sort itself out and find a new drainage route?

Sorry, prefer no horror stories please.  Got enough to worry about, so hoping for some positive experiences.

Hi Carole, I had a WLE with full lymph node excision. My drain was removed after 5 days because the discharge was down to 30mls. Still had a feeling like Niagara Falls inside my arm. Exercise was recommended as well as raising the arm to help the fluid drain. Not a good experience, so my full sympathy. X
