I was on here in 2015 as I had a swollen breast and some lumps. It turned out I had fibroadenoma, fatty necrosis, blocked ducts, and calcification. I’d previously had a fibroadenoma, back in 2012 or so.
Well, the swelling in my right breast went away and all was well for a while. And now here I am, off to the GP tomorrow.
I have pain on the right side of my right breast, and for the past few months my right breast has been weird. It looks okay when I stand up, but when I lie down, the texture is bizarre compared to the left. Old lefty is smooth and relatively firm, but the right is very very soft, crepey, and in the right light you can see how creased it is. The left feels like a chicken fillet and the right feels like pudding in balloon or something. I kept ignoring it as I thought it was because the swelling had changed it but I now have (an admittedly tiny) dimple above the nipple and a mysterious tiny bruise across from that… probably unrelated!
So. We shall see what the GP says tomorrow. It’s a locum.
The amount of issues this breast has given me over the years… Trying not to worry but hoping they can say what it is. I find it quite upsetting to look at as it’s such a mess - to me.
Don’t worry about the GP being a locum. Ten years ago yesterday I saw a locum as I’d found a lump. I was about to go on holiday, so ten years ago today he rang me at work and said he’d managed to get me into the breast clinic that afternoon. I shall be forever grateful to that young man.
Hello both, thanks for your kind replies. The doc was fine. He can feel my fatty lump and can see the weird texture of the skin, but as it’s soft not hard he’s not worried and thinks it’s because the breast was stretched and shrunk with the blocked ducts and horrible swelling I had a year and a half ago. He’s given me a non urgent referral to the breast clinic anyway so I shall wait and see when a letter comes. Nice to think it’s not a cause for concern but still wish it weren’t so weird in texture etc. I’ll come back after my clinic appt and let you know how I got on. xxx
Hello all. Good news, all fine. I have a node up in my armpit and the changes in texture in my skin must be due to the stretching from the extreme swelling I had with my blocked ducts a couple of years ago, which took about a year to go down and must have continued to deflate, as it were.
Relieved, but still wish my breast would ping back to ‘normal’! I suppose it shall be smooshy forevermore.
