Finally I’ve got my appointment to have a mammogramm which is followed by an appt with the surgeon on 5 Oct. I also have a first appointment to see the plastic surgeon the following week, so at last I hope to move things forward.
It will be interesting to see how things might differ here in France re recon surgery after IBC and for the added complication of diabetes.
I’ve been “googling” the name of the plastic surgeon to see if there is any info about him, I just hope he speaks English!
Has anyone else with IBC having/had recon and if so what type?
So pleased you finally got your appts through Carole. I don’t know of anyone with IBC who is also diabetic and has had recon. However I do know of a lady on bcpals (you prob know who I mean) who is diabetic and awaiting a diep recon.
hi i was diagnosed with ibc and diabeties in sept 2010 at the same time , i had a 4 and half cm tumor and smaller ones, i had chemo first 3 fec then 3 tax, then mx and immediate rec then 15 rads plus hereptin until jan 2012, while having treatment and the op after i was fine with my diabeties.
sorry i forgot to mention i had the lattimus dorsi muscle flap from the back, and they basically monitor you very closely while you are being operated on. hope this helps you .
