I hope I’m posting in the right thread. I’m a Feb chemo starter for her 2 positive, and just had my second treatment. They just can’t seem to get me on a medication to control the sickness. It doesn’t seem to start for a few days after treatment, then goes on and on for around a week. I just end up having to stay in bed as I’m so weak. This time I’ve kept drinking so I don’t get dehydrated, but oh it’s so horrible. Has anyone else had the same, and what did you do? Xx
I am so sorry to hear you are going through this. My sister starts chemotherapy tomorrow. Someone she spoke to today (non medic but whose wife went through breast cancer last year) told my sister that if she feels any medication she’s given isn’t helping her with anything - especially sickness - to ask for a different / higher dosage or a different medication.
I don’t have any experience if this yet. I hope you can get something to help you feel better soon. Thinking of you and sending much love.
@angepange1 my bcn told me that because of advances in medicine, no one should be vomiting as a result of chemo anymore. It’s all about finding the right combination of medicine and dosage for you. I’d urge you to speak to your nurses/oncologist and not just accept that you are suffering. They need to prioritise finding a regime that works for you.
@angepange1 So sorry to read you are having such a bad time with sickness. Please contact your team ASAP otherwise you are going to get very weak and poorly.
If you can’t get in touch over the weekend call 111.
Wishing you well, with health and happiness going forward
MUCH LOVE Tili ![]()

Hi all.
I’m just coming out of a horrible week of the sickness.
Thanks for your replies.
Yes , my team are fully aware, yes I’ve had lots of different anti sickness pills, they work a bit but not fully. Yes they keep trying. I forced myself to drink this cycle, so didn’t get dehydrated, but was still weak and bedridden. They just say for some the sickness is worse than for others.
I have another question for you all. Anyone else had a very tender scalp stubble? What did you do and did it resolve?
Lots of love to you all
xxx
Been plagued with awful nausea for the past few days but …you poor soul. I truly hope between now andthe next treatment your team can come up with a plan that helps even if it’s not 100%.
