Good morning ladies!
I am still here and rolling up laughing reading all of your posts you bonkers lot

Thank you for asking about me and caring, I really appreciate that
Warning long post as I haven’t been on here much recently
I am all good, just been bloody manic busy! I started my radio on the 2nd Oct so had two sessions before a weekend break and I thought “great, a nice little rest”. Oh no that did not happen …… Saturday was spent watching Lily play hockey, which I do enjoy, and then over dinner we sat talking about a Christmas present that we had bought Lils last year - an afternoon at The Royal Albert Hall for The Best of Broadway (we do like a bit of musical theatre in this family!) I thought we had better check the date and bugger me it was the next day (Sunday) so good job we checked! It was then a mad rush to get hairs washed and styled and clothes to wear that were comfy and didn’t rub on my poor sunburnt boob too much which was a good game
Well bang went my nice quiet weekend and hello to my bed as the trip to London completely knocked me out. Thankfully I had bought a car park ticket so we were able to drive rather than go by train which was a godsend! I’m really struggling to get through this lingering tiredness and feeling more like 82 than 52 with all the early nights. I’ve never really gone back to normal since the op but hey ho I’m sure it will sort itself out soon
Had my last 3 treatments the start of the week and all went well. I don’t seem to have suffered with a hot boob yet but it’s definitely very pink and tingly so lots of loose clothing. Back to work on Thursday and had a meeting with the accountants so I found myself apologising for the scruffy oversized shirt but they were lovely and even turned off the heating in the room so it wasn’t too hot for me, though it was bloody freezing instead
Travelled to Bedford yesterday to watch Lils play hockey and then a nice pj evening playing board games with the family. Lily’s boyfriend has been amazing through all of this too and goes out of his way to make Simon and me feel comfy and at home at their house which has been amazing - not all young people are thugs like we read and see on the TV.
I’m a 6 weeks into the Letrozole and so far the only side effects that are bothering me are the nightly flushes and the bleeding gums. I’m really hoping I don’t lose any teeth
Haven’t noticed my hair thinning but I use a thickening shampoo and conditioner anyway so maybe that’s helping
@smak I am leftie too so had the breath holding to do too. Once you get the hang of it it really isn’t too bad. After reading online about left sided radio I thought I’d be clever and practise deep breaths at home but I kept coughing as I was taking a sharp intake of breath through my mouth and then shutting it whilst holding my breath. This is NOT how to do it
When I had my scan appt my radiographer told me to take a deep breath in through the nose as though you are about to smell a lovely flower which really helped. He said that it needs to be gentle breathing not gasping as you just end up coughing and sneezing. I then practised this new way a few times and it came like second nature to hold my breath for up to 20 seconds. Thankfully I only had to hold it for 10-15 seconds at a time and didn’t cough once!
@pmeg14 Welcome to this crazy group. I like you only had a lumpectomy (double), lymph node removal, radio and hormone therapy. I like you haven’t had the additional traumas the other ladies on here have been through. I like you was also told off for using the word ONLY! I have learnt from this fantastic group that cancer is cancer and it doesn’t matter the size of the lump or the extent of the treatment. Cancer turns your life as you know it upside down and that happens to everybody. This group is all about being there if you want to rant, talking openly about treatments and how side effects are affecting you and just generally picking each other up on a down day. You probably are already aware of this but be careful if you’re reading some of these posts with a cuppa in hand as it could go everywhere with some of the honesty

I’ve missed you ladies and as my tiredness gets better and I’m awake for longer I’ll reply quicker, I promise!
That’s my essay for the day! Hope you all have a lovely rest of your weekend
Sending you all lots of love and good luck to those with treatments or appointments this week.
