Lucky Paul and I hope hubby doesn’t find out :joy::joy:

You definitely made the right choice to go by train and not drive! Good job you didn’t commando though or you’d scare passengers and not just delivery drivers :joy:

All went well today and the oncologist was lovely. We were in there for 45 minutes and she answered all of our questions fully and we left feeling very informed.

They want to proceed with 5 sessions of radiotherapy to the whole boob. Apparently if it was just the original lump then I might have got away with no radio or a couple of more targeted sessions. I’m happy enough though cos this way I feel more confident that they will zap any nasty little cells that feel like hanging around! They are going to send me a booking in appointment for within the next 3 weeks and then radio will start approx 3-4 after that.

I’ve also been prescribed Letrozole for 5 years. There’s obviously lots of side effects but I think that’s the same for most medications isn’t it. They are going to do a bone scan too. Apparently I should be having regular health checks for blood pressure and cholesterol so she’s gonna write to my GP to get those started.

All in all very positive

That’s great Charlotte. Sounds exactly the same as me hon. I’m doing a weeks worth too and I think, apart from Bella, we will all be heading there one after the other in October :grimacing:
I’ve got bone scan next week (for the anastrazole) and a CT prep next week too.
I’ve got my schedule starting first week in October.
Btw: no side effects as of yet :woman_shrugging:
I think, on AI’s they do keep an eye on us all… my cholesterol/bp etc as well

Do you feel better knowing what’s what?
Tbh, I agree with you about the radiotherapy. Much better to mop us as many cells as possible.
Onwards & upwards xxx

Glad rudolf is on the mend. Must have been very sore. I think you earned a quiet night on the sofa after the last two days. Definitely better to do the train…
Get your girls unfettered and hit the sofa!

Came home feeling very positive. Even though I was told at the start about the radio and hormone therapy you never really know if that’s actually where the journey is going to take you.

I feel happier knowing what I’m going to be taking now. I’m not going to Google it or anything as I feel the oncologist was very open about possible side effects and don’t want to scare myself!

Posted in the wrong thread

Well ladies I’m an emotional wreck tonight. The good news is my margins are now clear . Was so happy and relieved to hear this. Then the shit hit the fan We want you to start on Letrozole today . Really ??? Why not let me enjoy the moment !!! Then she checks by boob and says I need antibiotics because it looks red. Well of course it looks red. Youv’e been in there twice woman . After that I switched off and went into my happy place where her mouth was moving but I couldn’t hear her. Luckily I had a good friend with me so she picked up the rest. Charlotte how did u get on today ? Sending all of you lovely BBB’s love and hugs x

Brilliant news about your clear margins Sheelagh, focus on that lovely, that’s the important bit. The antibiotics will sort your Rudolf out in no time, and by starting Letrozole now it’ll get straight to work ensuring no more fckng cancer cells.

Lots to celebrate when you’ve recovered from your appointment xx

Rudolph doesn’t look so red this morning . Think he’s glad to have been released from the bra prison . I haven’t started the Letrozole as still unsure about it. I ate an extremely large bat of Mint Aero last night so feel a lot better today !

I wondered where you got to…, I did that too after my A&E shit show weekend!!:rofl:

Deep breaths. I had antibiotics too! No one actually said- you got an infection but when my boob wound burst open, it was highly bloody likely I’d say. So just take the antibiotics woman! Better safe than sorry :woman_shrugging:

I completely understand about the pills. I sat on my prescriptions (ranted about it to anyone who would listen ) and studiously ignored it until I had enjoyed the bank holiday and seen the oncologist to get my predict scores!! :muscle:grrr … we just want a bit of bloody peace to feel normal for a bit.

Anyway, I got my predict scores and bonbarded the poor woman with questions and I finally decided: a, I’m better off taking ‘something’ b, if I don’t bloody like it, I’m trying something else. C, ultimately if the side effects are really THAT bad, I won’t take anything and become a vegan monk!! lol!! (My predict was not that scary with or without the AI’s. The oncologist didn’t agree with me, but an extra 3 people out of a 100 sounds a small risk to me if I’m feeling like a brittle old crone!)… anyway, I started anastrozole last Monday … so far, nothing!! Don’t feel any different and haven’t grown another head overnight :rofl::rofl:
If it helps, give yourself a few more days. It’s up to you… xxx
Nice to have you back

Hi ladies, can I ask during your first oncologist meeting to discuss your treatment plan did they go through your predict scores? My oncologist said that they didn’t do this for radiotherapy… I didn’t push the point on hormone therapy as I’d already started that… at the next meeting I’ll definitely push this again. I’ve gone through the predict tool on Breast Cancer Now. Welcome your feedback. Hope you’ve all had a good day. I’ve been making chutney today, that’s a first … assume it’s the drugs :rofl::rofl: xxx
