Hiya, I was given scores but don’t know what model they used (I think there are several).

As I’ve dabbled in statistics before I asked whether my stats took account of having had it before. The Onc (Registrar) said she’d ask the Consultant, re-run the model and write to me. I’m still waiting for that letter, have chased it 3x and have been told it’s in draft waiting to be signed off. Ho hum.

Milk chocolate Lindt for me please

Hope all ok? Nearly Friday x

Hmm… I just demanded she run them. She went online to do it but I can’t remember exactly which system. It did have a lot of different scenarios to run. We did 5 years up to 15 and “all roads north”. I asked her to look at radiotherapy only/meds only/nothing at all and both. 5/10/15yrs. She certainly earned her money with me and I think she probably needed a stiff drink when she finally yawned, stretched and edged me towards the exit :grimacing::crazy_face:

I’d definitely ask again Amanda…

Bournville, after eights and a giant toblerone please!

I’m thinking about making chutney too… we’ve got a glut of tomatoes left on the patio… must definitely be the meds!!

What did you put in it? I’m thinking lots of curry spices and heavy on the sultanas (love sultanas!)bit of apple too and I’ve got tons of quince this year. I might bung a bit of that in too…

If I get a bout of insomnia, I might end up making whisky marmalade at 3am too :laughing:

Oh flip yes, insomnia. Why can’t I bloody sleep? TBH I’ve had it for ages but this totally shitty year hasn’t helped.

(And this is how ‘Anyone’ started with our very own Sheelagh <3 )

I’m lucky if I get one decent (7 hrs+) night a week. Sigh. Anyone (see what I did there?) got any tips?

It’s a bugger isn’t it! I seem very capable of falling asleep it’s just staying asleep that seems allude me. I go through phases of waking up at 3 something and I just end up creeping downstairs and making a cuppa. By 7am, I’ve watched every crap tv show I can stomach and finally feel like I could go off to sleep when it’s time to get up!!
I read somewhere that antihistamines taken at night for AI induced insomnia is worth a go… I haven’t tried it (obvs) as I only started last Monday. But I wonder if they work for insomnia generally??
It might be worth a try…
If I’m awake again at 3am Bella, I’ll google it for us both (and Sheelagh):rofl:

That sounds good, I’ve never made marmalade… could be my next challenge though I’ll need to stock up on jars after the mammoth chutney making today! I used tomatoes, apples, plums, sultanas, onions and courgettes with cayenne pepper and ginger. Hope it tastes alright…
I’ve got damson brandy brewing as well :wine_glass:

I’ll definitely push the predictability/ recurrence scoring again. I certainly didn’t have any option about radiotherapy. Thanks for the advice.

Enjoy the chocolates x

If the drugs have caused you to make chutney I definitely won’t be taking them lol

Didn’t know that stats were available to us

I’m lucky if I get 7hrs a week and that’s with taking sleeping tablets. Maybe I need to take up chutney making (I think not) . Such domestic Godess’s in our little group ! Wonder what other hidden talents we have amongst us.

Hi Sheelagh, your Onc should discuss your stats with you although I’m not sure if it’s for every case?

I’ve had 8 hrs sleep, woo hoo! It must have been my trip to the office that wore me out. I know also that having too much on my mind has literally kept me awake. Hopefully my :poop: year is going to end with less stress enabling me to catch up on the much needed .

Have a great weekend all x

Whoop whoop!! Good luck :crossed_fingers:

Good morning ladies, I am still around!

@smak Oncologist went really well. She was lovely and explained everything in detail and was happy to answer all our questions. I didn’t get a percentage chance of reoccurrence or anything like that but as I had two different types of cancer in the same boob they decided that radio would be the best option to make sure all the rotten little cells have definitely be killed off. I’ll be having 5 sessions and am just waiting for the dates.

I have my prescription for Letrozole but haven’t handed it in yet as wanted to read how people were getting on with it. All in all it seems pretty positive so I will put my big girl pants on and go to the chemist later today.

Regarding sleeping I’m the opposite to you lot at the moment! I used to sit up until the early hours because I couldn’t sleep then lie in until about 8.30 before dragging myself out of bed. Since the op I’m doing well if I’m not in bed asleep by 10.30! I only wake up once or twice if I get too hot but then that’s generally my own fault for not putting the fan on before I go to sleep :joy: I wonder if that might change with the tablets

I’ll let you if I grow an extra head or anything once I’ve taken the Letrozole ……

Ps I have no chutney making skills I’m afraid!

Very impressed with this skill set!

Is there enough room for us all on your speedboat??? I’m game

Blimey Sheelagh, 7hrs a week is dreadful. You poor thing. I’d be a basket case!

If it carries on with the letrozole, I say we all try the antihistamine tip?? See if it helps.

I’ve had a few nights of not so great sleep. I feel like I’m not really fully asleep, if that makes sense??

I’m listless today… I did get out and tidy up my magnolia while hb started a bonfire. I dragged a couple of big branches down the field and by then I’d had enough

Came back in for a cuppa and couldn’t drum up any more enthusiasm…

I’ll see how tomorrow goes.

@amafoss65 marmalade is fiddly if you do it the traditional way (boiling Seville oranges and slicing the skin. But, you can buy the fruit tinned & already prepped (Marmade) and that’s easier. I’ve done both. I rather like lemon and ginger marmalade, but it takes time. Happy to impart knowledge, if you want to give it a go. It’s lovely for the winter.
But the marmade is just as tasty if you add copious glugs of whisky during the boil :grimacing:

I went and got them, well hubby did as I had to go into work! He said it was a chore getting them cos they had mucked up my name on the exemption certificate which is now corrected but they didn’t send a new one out as all the pharmacist needs is the number. They were huffing and puffing a bit so he said that he’d take the prescription elsewhere as his wife was waiting at home for her cancer tablets - the meds then appeared on the counter within 5 minutes with an apology from the manager. They got themselves so flustered they ended up forgetting to take note of the certificate number!!

We’re doing this together Sheelagh :sparkling_heart:

Also I got a phone call today from the radiology department and my ct scan and booking appointment has been confirmed for next Thursday which was a lot quicker than we thought.

All happening at once!

Hope you lovely ladies have a good weekend xxx

We sure are !!! The nect chapter on our journey has started. I think it will be 6`- 8 weeks before my radiotherapy starts so you are way ahead of me of that. I oddly got some sleep last night. Don’t know when that last happened. !
Sending all you ladies with wonky Rudolph’s lobe and hugs x
