Becker implant shape

Hi everyone, I had a mastectomy and reconstruction in October and two weeks later had to have further surgery to remove nipple and some skin necrosis at which point I was given a Becker implant. Just wondering what people’s experiences are. I have lost weight which hasn’t helped but the Becker is very firm, high and round and about 3 times fuller than the other side which looks like a droopy flat pancake! I am small so not noticeable unless I wear extremely tight clothing (which I don’t) but I would like to even things out a bit. I know I can have some of the weight taken out of the Becker and wanted to know if others have done this successfully. I am concerned that unless it drops a bit it will never look natural. I know I can have surgery on the other side too but would like to avoid if possible. Consultant said I am not suitable for diep flap so stuck with implants. I will go back to my consultant but am first cycle of Ribociclib so don’t want to do anything about this until I am confident everything stabilised. Would be great to hear other experiences to help me think through options. Thank you!

Hello, I don’t know anything about becker implants, but chipping in as you’ve had no other replies yet. I had a skin sparing mastectomy with immediate gel implant, the first one always felt too big and uncomfortable and my surgeon was very willing to replace it, although wanted me to wait several months to let it settle and be sure. I dithered about more surgery but went for it. A lovely nurse I spoke with on here said “An implant will never feel like a natural breast, but you don’t have to settle for it being less than the best it can be“. A smaller different shape implant was so much better. It’s been part of me for over 10 years now and no regrets. Hope this helps a bit, i haven’t posted for a long time but recently started popping on again. Good luck with your treatment and whatever you decide. Xx

Thank you so much for your reply and glad that You were able to achieve a shape you are comfortable with and that all is going well ten years on. I will see if I can achieve that by reducing the size of the Becker and if not will definitely consider further surgery. Thanks again
