Best collagen for women, expert recommendation to choose

I researched the best collagen for women as i’ve been trying to improve my skin, hair, and joint health naturally as i get older. i have been experiencing dull skin, weaker nails, and occasional joint discomfort which made me start looking into collagen supplements. i went through reviews from trusted sources like reddit, healthline, and consumer reports and after comparing many options these two kept coming up as the top choices:

Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides Powder Advanced with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C

Momentous Grass-Fed Collagen Peptides Powder

https://www.amazon.com/Momentous-Collagen-Peptides-Protein-Servings/dp/B0BQ1KBX3Q/

however, i am having trouble deciding which one would be better for me and i would love to get your expert advice and hoping maybe some women or experienced supplement users on this forum can also share their advice. i usually want something easy to mix into coffee or smoothies and suitable for daily use. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

When I tried powders I felt a lot was left behind in the cup and then washed away. I take the Holland & Barrett tablets 1000mg bovine collagen x3 a day and they suit me. I know I’m getting the full dose that way. Often on promotion too.

Hi Zenova,

Thanks for posting.

Many people ask about vitamins, supplements and herbal medicines, as they want to do as much as possible to be healthy if they’ve had a diagnosis of breast cancer to help stay healthy or manage the side effects from treatments.

There is often the belief that these products are safe as they are considered natural. However, most don’t have to comply with the same testing that conventional medicines do. For many products there is a lack of research to support their use, and some can interfere with any conventional medicines people are taking including cancer treatments.

It’s not possible for us to say whether it’s safe to take collagen supplements when someone has had breast cancer or which one should be used. There is research looking at collagen levels and breast cancer, but it is not clear if this would mean that collagen supplements should be avoided. You can read more about this in this article Collagen benefits: Should I take a supplement? | MD Anderson Cancer Center.

It’s always important to speak to your breast care nurse, treatment team, GP, or a pharmacist before taking any supplements. You can also contact the World Cancer Research Fund Cancer and Nutrition helpline about diet and supplements following a cancer diagnosis.
