Bi-lateral mastectomy with no reconstruction. Clothing advice and clothing suppliers wanted please

I have had two mastectomies, one because of 9cm tumour. The second was elective for both asthetic.and preventative reasons. I chose no reconstruction and am 100% happy with this. I have been unable to find a uk supplier who has clothing for post mx and no reconstruction. All I can find are bras, lingerie and swimwear. Has anyone anything that can help me with this andt also some style advice - what will look better on me without a prosthesis, as I want to stay flat.

There is this massive assumption that with mx we all have either reconstruction or wear foobs - help please.

I am an active 62 year old who had her second mx in Dec 2014 and is now moving on post breast cancer but I want to look as good as I can too.

I had a good think about this before my surgery (which turned out to be bilateral WLE after all) and decided on stretchy tops with V necks and a floaty scarfy thing to distract the eye, and kaftan shaped tops with plenty of patterned/embellished fabric to blur the outline a bit.

hope this helps a bit.

I am so pleased you managed to get your second mastectoy done Rosie. I’ve had the week from hell. Was supposed to get my second one done on Monday but they sent me to the wrong hospital.  I have been so worried about this op and planned everything so carefully so to have it cancelled at the last minute - literally has totally floored me.I’m even unsure about going for it again if they send me another appointment. Can I ask you about your second op to try and get my head around things? I’m thesame age as you and my cancer was 10 years ago but my sister’s cancer came back and took her life.  Like you it doesn’t bother me about being flat chested, I hate the imbalance of my present shape but am mainly worried about the cancer returning. Would really appreciate being able to chat with you. Thanks. If you want to message me directly.
