Just wanted to say a big well done to BCC for putting together this pack for people living with and beyond Breast Cancer, i was given this pack last week by my BCN at a followup appointment even though im not quite finished treatments yet (still another 9 herceptins to go and more surgery to come) but would like to say what a great scorce of info it is, its packed full of great tips and advice from manageing the effects of treatments, to money matters, relationships , improving well being ect, it also contains a very usefull DVD with exercisees for getting fitter and feeling stronger plus a heck of a lot more! Was also given a copy of the Artical by Dr Perter Harvey "After The Treatment Finishes - Then What?. Which realy does relate to not only the phyical aspects of BC but also to the emotional impact of what a BC Dx feels like and the rollercoater that it is !
If you havent been given this pack or not got one yet, id certainly reccommend it as think it will be a very usefull resource to keep, only wish something like this had been around after my first Dx when at the end of treatment you feel pretty much lost, think you may be able to order it on here if your hospital hasnt got them in yet ( but not realy sure?) Anyway would def reccommend, also its for everyone ,People Living with Breast Cancer and also for those beyond!
Well Done again BCC!
Linda
Thanks cornishgirl. I’ll pass this on to the publishing team who produce the Moving Forward pack.
If anyone is interested, you can order it from the website www2.breastcancercare.org.uk/publications/about-breast-cancer-care/moving-forward-resource-pack-patients-living-beyond-breast-cancer-bcc197
You can download most of it from there too, but you won’t get the DVD that way.
Thanks again for the thumbs up, cornishgirl.
Is there anything in this resource pack that is relevant for those such as myself who have secondary breast cancer? If not, please can someone from BCC post on this thread, to explain clearly about any resources for those who have recently had a secondary diagnosis.
Many people forget that some of us get the “double whammy” - a secondary dx within a few weeks of a primary dx. We, too, need good resources.
Hi Mrs Blue
Like you I have been diagnosed with secondaries. I clicked on the link in the above message and when it opened there is a menu on the left hand side of the screen which has a’Secondary’ section.

There are loads of resources in there for us and it’s free to order or download copies. Excellent resources BCC thank you.
Hope this helps Mrs Blue

Mrs Blue ,to answer your question YES there is, it is for EVERYONE Living with Breast Cancer and also for those beyond! The info re Menopausal symtoms, relationships, Money matters, and many of the other issues that everyone expierences with a Dx of BC whether primary or secondry will find this pack usefull. BTW, im dealing with cancer for the 2nd time, its certainly not about moving on in that sense, Id def reccommend it for anyone.

As Cornishgirl says, there is information in the Moving Forward resource pack which may be relevant to people with a secondary diagnosis. However, it is aimed mostly at people who are getting towards the end of their treatment for a primary breast cancer. There is information in there about signs and symptoms of recurrence or secondary breast cancer.
We have a resource pack specifically for people with a diagnosis of secondary breast cancer, which you can download or order here.
