I am new to this site and this is my first post so I hope I do it right. I am 25 and was diagnosed with IDC (no nodes involved) of my left breast in feb. I have undergone 6 cycles of chemo and I am now scheduled for a bilateral mastectomy on 14th July, with immediate reconstruction using the strattice method. Basically instead of tram or ld flaps they place an implant behind the pec muscle and use pig skin (strattice) to create and internal bra to hold the implant in place.
I was just wondering if anyone had undergone this method of reconstruction? if so any info would help. I’m feeling a bit anxious about it all.
