Bilateral Mastectomy

I had my bilateral mastectomy on 11-11-16 without reconstruction or expanders. My chest feels tight sometimes and my left arm is a little more challenging than my right when it come to doing arm circles or putting my hands behind my head. I’ve been going to the gym running and walking. Today I did smith machine squats and lunges. I was diagnosed with the her2 so I’ll have to take pills for that starting in January. My surgeon and oncologist suggested that I do radiation but I’m undecided any advice? My nodes came back clear of cancer.

I had mx for high grade DICS - mx revealed invasive cells - HER2+ (nodes clear).  Surgeon thought no more treatment needed but the oncologist was keen for me to have herceptin so I had to have chemo to get that.  That was relatively easy to decide because the benefits of herceptin seemed clear.  He also advised radiotherapy because it was diagnosed largely accidentally - nothing had shown up on mammogram and u/s.  Slightly harder to decide about radiotherapy as the benefit was less clear cut plus possible downside (especially as it was on the left).  In the end I followed the oncologist’s advice and chose to do radiotherapy - decided throwing everything at it to reduce the risk of it coming back was the best option.  Have they been through the likely benefit compared to any possible downsides with you? Sounds as though that might help.
