Biopsy and next stage

I found a lump back in October which then developed into a second lump being found. I went to the GP who did a 2 week referral and I had a biopsy done.
While waiting for the results I found a third lump on my other breast (left) however this was different than the others and my breast was swollen, rashy and very very tender.
My first set of biopsies returned inconclusive and another was needed, this time a core biopsy was taken and they did the same for my new lump. I’ve recently had the results back from this and my first 2 lumps returned benign which is great however the newer one on my left returned as B3. They have said I will have a consultation and discuss the removal of the lump so they can send this off to pathology to be tested. In the meantime my left biopsy site has become infected and I’m currently on a course of antibiotics, pain meds and now antisickness.

I’m in a lot of pain at the minute but also
Worried about future appointments and potential outcome. We’re now in the Christmas period and I’m
Just feeling very anxious

Sorry to hear about your worries, especially at Christmas. I don’t have any pearls of wisdom - other than I get you. The waiting and not knowing is hard, but it does sound like you are in good hands. x

There’s nothing worse, in my opinion, @tas1989 than knowing something needs to be investigated but, due to the time of the year or whatever, nothing is progressing as quickly as you want. Frustration is a very underrated cause of anxiety. You have had very bad luck in getting an infection at the biopsy site and being in pain exponentially increases negative emotions - I hope that the various drugs you’ve been given sort out the pain quickly. The fact is that the histology of any lump, cancerous or benign, can only truly be revealed by taking it out and subjecting it to the sort of rigorous testing that would be impossible in situ. The waiting is hard and until you have solid facts, your mind will fill the gaps with worst case scenarios. The majority of lumps turn out to be non-cancerous, as you have experienced in the right breast, so try to hold on to that. It might sound platitudinous but each day that goes by is a day closer to this being resolved. In the meantime, post here if it helps you get your thoughts down in writing and once the BCN nurses line is back open on 27th December or 30th/31st December 9am-4pm on 0808 800 6000, having a chat through with them will help enormously.

Thankyou. The waiting definitely feels teh hardest at the minute.
I isut feel so lost and unaware of how things are going to progress. As I’m still waiting for the consultation I haven’t had a many details on how they will remove the lump so my mind is just left worrying and filling in the gaps

Hi @tas1989 Welcome to the forum. @Tigress has said all I would say.

Just wanted to say I’m thinking about you and have everything crossed it’s nothing to worry about when the lump is removed.

Keep us informed.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
