Biopsy results and treatment plan

Hey you beautiful lot…so today I recieved thr results of my vacuum biopsy, it was also cancer.

I am now scheduled for a mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction, chemo and radiotherapy will be decided after surgery. I feel a relieved that I now know the treatment, as far as the surgery goes but I know its a big operation and recovery time. I’m feeling so much better that I know what my surgery will be but also very apprehensive with the whole procedure and what the treatment will be after…its such an emotionally and physically draining process to go thorough. After they told me today I was feeling OK but now I’ve had time to process the information, im feeling scared and that I still have a lone journey ahead.

Please, I’f anyone has had DEIP flap reconstruction, could let know their experience and I’f the needed radiotherapy and chemotherapy, that would be greatfully appreciated.

Sending good wishes to you all xx

Hello @Cassie123

Thank you for sharing your post below

I’m so pleased to hear that now you have your treatment plan in place you feel like your head is in a better place.
It sounds like you have got a long journey ahead of you, and I’m sure most people who’ve gone through the treatment process will agree that just taking one step or one day at time makes the journey a bit more manageable.
Wishing you all the very best as your treatment progresses, I’m sure you already appreciate there will be good days and bad and bumps in the road, but the breast cancer community is there for everyone who needs it both here on the forums and in real life: personally I found having face to face conversations (albeit some were on Zoom!) so helpful

Lots of love AM :two_hearts:

PS I’m sorry I can’t offer any words of wisdom on your treatment plan but I’m sure there are some ladies on this forum who can
