Bleaching hair after treatment

Hi. I finished chemotherapy about 12 months ago and radiotherapy last December. I had TNBC My hair has grown back well but wanted to have it highlighted. My hairdresser doesn’t think its a problem but wanted me to check first. Im not on any treatment only daily ibandronic acid tablets so don’t see my oncologist anymore so hope its ok to ask for advice on here. Thankyou

Thanks for your post asking about highlighting your hair following chemotherapy treatment for triple negative breast cancer.

As @shannon27 says, you can usually apply permanent hair colour after a few months once your hair has started to grow back and your hair and scalp are in good condition.

An organisation called Cancer Hair Care recommends you allow at least an inch (2.5cm) of hair to grow before colouring it. Your hairdresser should do a skin sensitivity test (patch test) before using permanent dye on your hair to check how your scalp and hair may react.
