Blood clots

I had a CT scan 2 weeks ago that identified blood clots in my lungs. I was also suffering a chest infection that has now cleared up after a IV antibiotics.  I’m home now and giving myself daily Fragmin injections. I’m told that my breathlessness is from the existing clots, which will take some time to be reabsorbed by my body- possibly 3-6 months!

I’m now on oxygen at home because of this.

Does anyone else have experienced of clots and how long did they take to resolve?

Hi Jayne, yes I had blood clots recently, I am on Capecitabine, I was totally out of breath all the time, couldn’t get up the stairs at all. lung x ray showed possible clots on lungs, ct confirmed it. I was on the injections for 10 days then they did another ct and they had dissolved.

Currently in hospital, been 3 weeks with a very large Pulmonary Embolism and Pneumonia. I also have lung mets.

still breathless, on a multitude of things!!!
