Hi there, does anyone else have trouble getting blood tests done? I was advised not to have blood tests or blood pressure tests on my arms after having bilateral lumpectomies & SNBs. The hospital who gave me the form said they couldn’t do it elsewhere, ie on my foot, but to try a walk in centre or my GP. The walk in centre won’t do it and so far it has taken three days and several phone calls not to get an answer from the GP! Getting a bit frustrated now…

Hey susu,
Poor you! I sympathise. I’ve had lymph clearance both sides and do have lymphodema. It’s possible to use the foot, but you have to push. I have regular blood tests as I have an under active thyroid. My GP practice will do them. My local hospitals don’t, but when I complained, they said if I wrote in ahead, they would try to find someone. I worry more about blood pressure. I’m no doctor but I think the main risk of needles is infection whereas blood pressure cuffs squelch the lymphatic system. I use my leg. Any questions just say? Rattles x
