Blue dye problems - Now getting scared

Hi

I was diagnosed with BC early November, went in for lumpectomy and Sentinal Node biopsy on 28 November, operation abandoned as I had anaphylaxis under aneasthetic.

Went for allergy tests yesterday but tested positive to Patent Blue dye not the Mythelene Blue Dye they said they had given me - could they have given me the wrong dye during surgery?

I’m now concerned delay will make BC spread…anyone know how fast it grows

Hi Chelle ,sorry you have had such a scary time .Eveyone worries about the cancer growing when there is any delay in their treatment but we have all been assured by our medical teams that the majority of breast cancers are very slow growing and that a few weeks delay will make no difference to the prognosis .Where ladies are making decisions about reconstruction or need further scans it can be a couple of months from diagnosis to start of treatment .When are you next seeing your surgeon to discuss what happens next ?
