Blue Monday

They say today is blue Monday because… of where we are in the season, how long this month feels, the dark days and nights.

I am not denying that it is tough, but we have a different version of tough and just because someone has deemed to name today a Blue Monday does not mean it has to be. :star: :star: :star:

So in my forever search of finding even the teeniest crack of light on the darkest of days.

If you are able to, could you post one thing that is a glmmer! Nothing is too small to be a glimmer. And we will change what people tell us today to be to a day filled with all dots of glimmers to create a ball of light that we can burn for ourselves to be bigger than the sun or to fill a dark sky with these glimmer of star lights.

If you would like to continue to do so, grab a jar, pot, empty takeaway tub… and every day just write one thing that you noticed and this time next year you will have 365 magical light sources that belong to you and will be as unique as you are.

I am sending so many glimmers for you all x

This morning I sent my 2 girls off to school with homemade bread rolls that I’d made for the weekend. I am so proud of myself for learning to bake bread. It’s no small thing. It took months of trial and error. At times it was quite stressful haha
Baking bread now brings me so much peace, its almost meditation. You have to concentrate on what you are doing, how the dough feels and set numerous timers as you go.
I love it
My small glimmer is the feeling homemade bread gives me when I share it with my family

I’ve just had a bit of a walk and was delighted to hear the birds singing and see bulbs starting to sprout a carpet of snowdrops in the park. So my glimmer is, even though there may be more bad weather ahead, the circadian rhythm of nature continues undaunted and unstoppable for us to enjoy and take comfort in, whatever our circumstances.

Hey @foxgem. What lucky girls being sent off with home made bread  Do you have any tips on making bread? I’m trying to make more home made things, I’m also going to start growing some vegetables in Feb xx

Oh I love this! My little glimmer of this morning was my 2 year old toddling into nursery with no tears at all telling them about the Mummy she was in the tomb (we went to a museum yesterday haha). I then got some steps in and walked to meet my husband and my eldest daughter went into school happy and ready for the day with some things she wanted to tell her class about from the museum. I’m so proud of her, they can just choose if they want to do a little show and tell on Mondays of what they did at weekend, it’s not forced, and she said yesterday she wanted to!

Then we went for another little walk and hit 5k steps before 10am. Sat on the sofa now with a brew working on a new business venture as this whole journey has made me look at my whole life and put it into perspective!

I hope you are all well and find a little bit of joy in today however small it is :sparkling_heart:

Thank you, I love that you ladies get ‘me’ and join in with my posts so that is a huge glimmer.

Another one is I had to phone the Drs for a fit note and the receptionist was so kind. X

Hi!

Blue monday indeed!

Last year on “Blue Monday” I went to the local breast clinic after a recall from a routine mammogram. “ I’m pretty sure it’s cancer” said the consultant radiologist. She was right. A lumpectomy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment followed.

Fast forward to this year..

Today I had a lovely walk along the beach in the winter sunshine, coffee and cake with my wonderful sister, booked to see Shakespeare in Stratford-on-Avon, bought new ski boots for my holiday next week and topped it all off with watching the Northern lights!

There is light at the end of the tunnel and I have learnt to try to make each day count!

Love to all going through their diagnoses and treatment!

@hen my glimmer was definitely seeing the Northern lights through the clouds yesterday.

Today is was a walk with a friend where her little sausage dog rolled in poo but my two dogs did not. This was both hilarious at the time and a relief that I did not have to do a Labrador spa day post walk!
