I had breast cancer 17 years ago.
I went for my yearly check last week and was told that I should have a bone scan as I have been having a a lot of pain in my back, I have lost the feeling in my left leg and I am walking with a slight limp.
I am hoping that it is nothing to do with the breast cancer I had.
The doctor said that he had just seen a lady who was free of the cancer for 20 years and it has come back that has started to worry me.
The hospital have just rung and I am going tomorrow for the scan.
Hi Shall,
That must have come as such a shock to you. 17 years free from cancer is really good. I hope this is not a return but it is good that they are checking it out for you, and not wasting any time. The waiting can be so awful. I was diagnosed 18 years ago but had several recurrences during that time. I have also had bone mets for 6 years now, and although they were very extensive the treatment has been very successful in keeping them stable all this time.
Hope you get on o.k. tomorrow and that they will give you the results as quickly as possible. Do let us know how you get on.

Hi Shall
Sorry to hear you have problems with your back and leg but as Dawn says it’s good your gettig a scan to check things, don’t know if you have had a bone scan before, if not just wanted to say there fine.
Hope things go O.K
Take Care Liz x
Hi Shall
I was in the same position as you a couple of weeks ago and had a bone scan. It didn’t show anything but i still have a tender rib! So, sometimes it is not as bad as we think. Wishing you all the best,
Grace
