Hello
We know it can be helpful to talk on the Forums before coming along, and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
Hi I’m Joanne (prefer Joe) I’m 45 with Triple negative breast cancer. Diagnosed in November and started treatment in December. So far I’ve had 8 sessions of chemo with 8 more to go before surgery and whatever else follows. I’ll be travelling from Salford and am really looking forward to meeting people who are experiencing this journey. See you all next week.
Hello I am Laura, 33 from Kent! I’m originally a Yorkshire gal and my folks live nearby so it’s perfect! Lumpectomy Jan 2025, fertility treatment May 2025, chemotherapy finished September 2025 and radiotherapy finished October 2025. Now on hormone therapy (letrozole, zoladex and the lovely Ribociclib!) I was stage 2, grade 3 when found the lump. Looking forward to meeting you all and starting to try to move forward with this ‘new normal’. Chemo absolutely floored me and I’m only now starting to get it together X
Hi ladies im Zoe. I was diagnosed October 2024. I’ve had a double mastectomy chemotherapy radiotherapy and now im on medication. Looking forward to meeting women who like me are on their journey
I’m Lisa, I’m 39 and was diagnosed with HR positive BC last June. I’ve had surgery, chemo and now currently having radiotherapy (will have to duck out for a bit on Friday to get blasted!).
I’m Sharon I’m 43 and was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive HER2+ breast cancer last year. I had a single mastectomy back in August with flat closure (due to the waiting times for reconstruction) I’ve just completed 6 rounds of IV chemo and have piled on the weight over last 6 months .
It will be nice to meet other people who understand some of the things that we are going though and hopefully pick up some tips on getting my fitness back once the fatigue begins to fade
My name is Saira age 42. Was diagnosed with Her2 + breast cancer last year. Finished chemotherapy, surgery and radio have two more phesgo injections left and then done with active treatment. Currently I am cancer free. I hope it stays this way! Really looking forward to meeting you all. I’m travelling from Manchester.
I was diagnosed at 28 (2020, start of lockdown) I have had 6 breast surgeries including a double mastectomy, chemo, hormone therapy for a few years and have frozen my eggs. I am cancer free
My most recent surgery was nipple reconstruction so I am just waiting on tattooing in a few months.
Hi all, Siobhan here (37). Diagnosed triple positive in September 2025. I’ve completed chemo and am having a mastectomy the week after the event. Would love to speak to women about experience of mastectomy, especially with small children. Can’t wait to feel the connection and community.
Found a lump in May 2025, diagnosed in a June, had lumpectomy and reduction on other side in August, sent off for Oncotype testing in September, had radiotherapy November and December and now trying to get back to some sort of normality.
Looking forward to meeting people in similar situations. I’ve been very positive throughout and hope that helps others I meet.
Hi Siobhan, I had a mastectomy in September and have a 3 and 8 year old - very happy to share my experience, so hopefully we can catch up next week The kids were great and my little girl still says “which boobie hurts mummy” before she launches herself on me, so I’m now teaching her not to worry about it!
I’m Kay & I’ll be coming up from Sheffield. I was diagnosed with HER2+ invasive DC in July last year. I had a lumpectomy in August and have very nearly finished chemo. My last round will be the week after the event and I’m really hoping to have my tastebuds back in time to enjoy my 45th birthday meal at the end of the month. I’m looking forward to meeting you all
Hi All- I’m 41, a mum of 3 girls (3, 7 & 11), I’m travelling up from Herts and I’m really looking forward to taking this time. I was diagnosed with stage 3 HER2+ inflammatory breast cancer in October 2024. I am cancer free as of now having had chemo, a left side mastectomy and node clearance, radiotherapy and Phesgo. I have just two rounds left of Phesgo which feels surreal!
I haven’t had reconstruction yet and am flat on one side which is tricky. I have mild to moderate lymphoedema in my left hand so I’m wearing compression garments which is a learning curve I took six months off work during the surgery recovery and radiotherapy and I’m back now part time to my office based job. I am looking forward to taking time to process everything that’s happened. I feel like I’ve coped well but this phase is harder in many ways! Gill x
Hi everyone I’m Josie, I’m 30 and I’ll be travelling from Newcastle (I feel like I’ve announced that like I’m a contestant on Take Me Out ).
I was diagnosed in September and have since had fertility treatment, lumpectomy and just finished radiotherapy in Jan. I’m now on tamoxifen and soon to begin Zoladex.
