Booked a place on the Younger Women Together residential event in Bristol, this weekend?

Hello
We know it can be helpful to talk on the Forums before coming along, and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

Look forward to meeting you.
Steph

Hi my name is Annari, I’m 45, so I’ll be the granny of the group :rofl: I was diagnosed with Invasive ductal carcinoma in Feb, had a mastectomy in April and radiation in July. I’m looking forward to meeting you all. For those who feel a bit nervous, just remember no one else will understand how you’re feeling and what you’re going through more than the other women attending, so there is no judgement, just love :heart:

Hi wonderful women! I’m Kylie, 42, single, with one son aged 6. I was diagnosed in June and had my surgery in September - SMX with immediate DIEP. I’ve healed brilliantly from the surgery, but literally just had my first chemo yesterday (i scored 28 on Oncotype test so need to now have 4 rounds of EC and 4 rounds of Paclitaxel which will see me through til end of Feb). I’ve braved the shave so am rocking the buzz cut, but shall be beautifully bald by Xmas!
I’m soooooo hoping to have the energy to be well for Fri and Sat, but it will be day 3 and 4 after my first infusion, and I’ve read some horror stories about how tired I’m going to be feeling - currently the steroids they packed me off with are working wonders and I’m feeling fine, but the bag of drugs will have run out by Friday!
Really looking forward to meeting you all, swapping stories, and filling up on great words of wisdom and advice. See you all soon! x

Hi all. My names Saima, pronounced “Sigh-Ma”. I was diagnosed in January. 3 ops and radiotherapy since Feb and life was just getting back to normal, until I felt another lump. Now waiting for another scan. I’m nervous about this weekend, for many reasons, but I’m looking forward to meeting you all. X

Hi everyone! I’m Chloë and will be one of the volunteers at the event. I’m 41, was diagnosed back in March 2020 with triple positive invasive ductal carcinoma. I took part in an online YWT event a few years ago so very much looking forward to coming and meeting you all at this in person one. Hopefully I’ll get to chat to all of you - whether that’s just listening or sharing my experiences. :heartpulse:

Morning everyone!
Sorry for being late to the party posting on here. I’m Laura, one of the volunteers to support you all during our two days together. I’m 44, had a triple positive diagnosis 7 years ago when I was 37 and my two boys were 5 and 2. I’ve had a mastectomy with immediate implant, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, further surgery (DIEP) and have another few years of tamoxifen to go.

Another cat lady here :cat2::black_cat:

Looking forward to meeting you all Xx
