Booked a place on the Younger Women Together residential event in Leeds?
Hello
We know it can be helpful to talk on the Forums before coming along, and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
I’m Alice, I’m 32yrs old and was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer last September. I’m still in the midst of treatment and have found it quite difficult to continuously be the youngest in the room at chemo etc. I’ve also had a few health professionals comment on how young I am which can be frustrating, so I’m really looking forward to attending this event and meeting other young people to connect with.
I live in York with my husband Gavin and our rescue English Bulldog Barbara. I love reading, rugby league and going to the theatre. I’m also partial to a sharing platter and a few cocktails! Looking forward to meeting and getting to know you all.
Hi, I was also diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in January 2024 when I was 30yrs old. I have now completed my treatment. It Will be really nice to have a chat and give you some support and answer any questions you might have.
Hi everyone, my name is Rudy, and I’m 40. I live in Leeds and work in healthcare, and I’m part of the LGBTQ community. I was diagnosed in spring 2024 and I finished my active treatment for breast cancer just before Christmas. I’m now balancing follow up care with going back to work.
I like growing things on the allotment, writing and crafting, and playing the piano. Looking forward to meeting you all.
I’m Em and I am 43. I was diagnosed with lobular cancer in November and had a mastectomy 2 weeks ago. Originally was going to be a lumpectomy, but both further biopsies came back as cancer a week before the operation. I live in Leeds (not at the hospital, but it currently feels like it)
Hello, I’m Ruth and was diagnosed in January 2024 at the age of 33. A year to the day since I had my mastectomy today! I live in Harrogate but work in Leeds. I’m looking forward to meeting some people my age - I agree, it’s hard when you are always the youngest in the room. See you soon x
I’m Katie, I was diagnosed last April (2024) just finished Radiotherapy after chemo and surgery, got a while to go yet with continued treatment until late summer this year. I’m 41, live in Wakefield with my husband, step daughter and 2 French bulldogs (well, one French and one Fren-glish) I’m into cooking, gardening, growing veggies. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, I think it will be good to hear other peoples stories and learn how to process and deal with some of this stuff moving forwards. Xx

I’m BRCA1 positive and have six embryos waiting for me.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all! You’ll probably spot me a mile off if the weather is bad and I show up in my “booby beanie” or “booby beret” I made… I may not have boobs, but my sense of humour remains intact!
Hi I’m Natalie! I’m 36 and was diagnosed with oestrogen positive her2 negative in November 24.
