Booked a place on the Younger Women with Secondaries Together event in Leeds 11/12 October 2024?

Hello

Feedback has said it can be helpful to talk on the Forums beforehand and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.

Look forward to meeting you next weekend
Steph

Hi, I’m Sarah and am booked on to attend this week. I’m 38, got two great kids - 9 and 13, and a cocker spaniel called Ralph who is bonkers! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hello, I’m Kat. I’m 42, was 39 when diagnosed with MBC. I’ve got 9 year old twins - they’d love a dog Sarah but we don’t have one yet! Think we’re going to start with rabbits :joy:
Looking forward to the weekend also feeling a bit nervous about it - not done anything like this before.

Hi, I’m Kate. I was diagnosed with TNBC in 2022, aged 39. Two very lively kids aged 4 and 6.
Looking forward to meeting you all (also quite nervous!), especially since everyone at my local oncology ward seems to be elderly and male!

Hi ladies! I’m sam and I’m 38… I have 2 daughters aged 10 & 13 and two cats :black_cat:
I’m quite nervous as I’m not usually one to go to groups etc and likewise, the clinics I go to are usually for older men & ladies and I always feel like I’m the youngest there.
Will be nice to meet people in a similar situation  x

Just wondering what people will be doing after we’ve eaten on Friday night? Will
Everyone be going back to their rooms? Staying and socialising or going out for a drink? Just trying to decide what to pack! X

I’d be up for going out for a drink afterwards.

Also looking forward to having a bit of a lie-in and not being woken by the kids before 7am!

We’ve also got three cats, but really we are just their servants!

Yes I’d be up for socialising too assuming I’m not exhausted which seems to be the standard for me now!

Same for me, happy to socialise afterwards if still awake :joy:

Hi everyone, I’m Sam, 29, and I’ll be attending this weekend. It’s my first time at an event like this after being diagnosed last year, and I’m looking forward to meeting you all.

Looking forward to meeting you all  I wonder how many ladies are going? X

Hi all! I’m Laura live in Gateshead with hubby Gary, my 7 year old daughter Ella and a mad cocker spaniel Ralph and a very old and grumpy cat. I was 33 at primary diagnosis, 36 when it returned in lymph nodes and bones.
I’ve just been in hospital with a mother of a chest infection but hoping I’ll be much better by Friday and able to knock back a G&T or two
