I wanted to share our upcoming ‘Younger Women with Secondaries Together Online: 3-week event’ for women 45 and under with secondary breast cancer. It runs across 3 sessions and is designed for information, connection and support. The sessions will take place on zoom.
Session dates and times:
1pm to 2:30pm on the following Tuesdays in January and February:
Tuesday 27 January
Tuesday 3 February
Tuesday 10 February
What you can expect:
Week 1 - we’ll focus on letting you get to know one another and connecting
Week 2 – you’ll hear from our clinical nurse specialists about living well with secondary breast cancer, including plenty of time for your questions
Week 3 - our experienced counsellor will help you to think about adjusting and adapting to a life-limiting illness and then lead a mindfulness session to close the event
Please register here
We hope you can join all 3 of the sessions to get the most from the event. We understand if something comes up last minute you can no longer attend. If that happens email us at uk-wideservices@breastcancernow.org
If you can’t attend or would prefer the in-person event, our next Younger Women with Secondaries Together in person is in Bristol on 8 and 9 May.

Jumping in on this older post because I’m wondering if anyone who joined the sessions found them helpful. I’ve been looking for spaces to meet others in a similar situation and would love to hear what the atmosphere was like. If anyone knows whether more groups like this are planned, I’d really appreciate an update.

Hello, yes, they are very regular events. They normally have a couple a year. There’s also an online meet-up that they run too. Probably best to call BCN and ask them to let you know when they have a date for the next one. Whereabouts are you based as there are quite a few SBC groups around the country now? I go to one in London that is run by a charity called Make 2nds Count. Meeting people in person is what has got me through this.x
Those sessions sound like a good way to feel less on your own, especially with people who get the day-to-day stuff. On tougher weeks, I sometimes distract myself by checking out things like missmimelbourne.com.au for a bit of food inspo or just to daydream about something nice. Little pockets of normal life can make the heavier conversations a bit easier to carry.
