Hello,
Feedback has said it can be helpful to talk on the Forums beforehand and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
Look forward to meeting you next weekend
Becky (Secondary breast cancer services manager at Breast Cancer Now)
Hello,
I’m Nicole and I’m from Fife in Scotland.
Looking forward to the retreat next weekend and meeting everyone!
I’m 40 and have a 7 year old son, Raphaël. I was diagnosed with primary BC in June 2024 and secondary BC in June 25. I have bone mets which are currently stable on first line of treatment.
See you all next week ![]()
Thanks for your message Nicole. Hope you have a good journey down from Scotland. The Breast Cancer Now team are looking forward to meeting you ![]()
Hello!
I’m Becky, I’m 45 and I live in Eastbourne with my wife - I have 3 grown up stepchildren but all have flown the nest (mind you 2 of them very local including one literally on the next street!).
I was diagnosed De Novo in December 2025 with triple positive IDC and lung mets. I’ve just finished chemo which has worked well on mets, and just started on my maintenance treatment today.
I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in Bristol next week. I’ve met a few of you in online sessions and it will be lovely to meet in person.
Hi everyone!
I’m Jade, I’m 35 from East Kent (near Canterbury) and was diagnosed de novo last June with triple positive BC that has spread to my mesenteric lymph nodes and was very widespread in my bones (my PET-CT was lighting up like a Christmas tree
). I’m on my first line of treatment (phesgo, anastrazole, denosumab, zoladex) and feel very lucky as have responded well so far, with my last CT showing no measurable disease. Next big scan is in 2 weeks time, so just hoping that it continues!
Looking forward to meet you all next week ![]()
Thanks for your message Jade, likewise the Breast Cancer Now team are looking forward to meeting you ![]()
Hi, I’m Emma, I live in Sheffield with my husband and almost 9 year old son. I was diagnosed de novo with liver mets July 2019, the immunotherapy is doing its thing and I have been NEAD for 5 years. Looking forward to 2 nights away from my DIY disaster house and meeting you all (sorry, it is in that order) x
Hi I’m Kelly, I’m 36 from Bury St Edmunds Suffolk.
I was diagnosed denovo, following the birth of my son, with mets to my sternum and liver. I am triple positive.
I am very grateful to be 3 years NEAD and on first line treatment. Along with my 3 year old son I have a 17 year old daughter.
I am recently single and rediscovering myself which initially was terrifying with this diagnosis!
It’s part of the reason I wanted to come along.
Looking forward to meeting you all and gaining some knowledge and getting some sleep!
see you soon xx
Hello Emma - thanks for your message. Myself and the rest of the Breast Cancer Now team look foward to meeting you this weekend ![]()

Hello,
Nice to e-meet you and I look forward to meeting you all in person Friday. I’m Hayley (aged 43) and I live in Gloucestershire with my husband and our 10-year old son, Alby.
I was nearing four years in remission to stage 3, HER2+ breast cancer when in October last year I was diagnosed with a secondary brain tumour. Having undergone surgery and Gamma Knife, my latest scans show no measurable disease.
I forgot to add… I had to surrender my driving license so although i’m only an hour from Bristol, I may come down on the Thursday eve. If anyone else is doing the same let me know!
Hi all, I’m Bea, I’m 45. Diagnosed with primary in Oct 2018. All clear for 5 years then metastatic in Nov 2024. I’m on my second line of treatment. 1st line worked (chemo) beautifully but the maintenance only lasted 8 months (PHESGO). I am navigating and learning to get used to the another new.
I live with my husband and 2 whippets in Worcester. Last year I run 45th London Marathon mid chemo and raised lots of pennies for a local charity. Currently I am signed off work as wwnt through a very rough path with the 2nd line. Currently trying to work out and decide on next steps. I am AHT and SENDCO at a secondary school and love my job BUT unsure I can continue at this pace.
Really looking forward to meeting you all, connecting, learning from each other & key speakers. See you Fri ![]()
Thanks for your message Bea, the Breast Cancer Now team are looking forward to meeting you ![]()
Hi all! I’m Dana (36) and live in Wiltshire with my wife. I was diagnosed primary in Feb 2024 and on my end of treatment scan the following year, they discovered that it metastasised. I am on my first line of treatment (Enhertu) but most recent scans are looking like progression so I might be changing treatment soon. I’ll find out next week.
Other than all the amazing content we are about to hear, I am really looking forward to meeting more people who are in a similar boat. I’ve met quite a few people with secondary breast cancer but all of them are at least 20 or more years older than me and are just in a different phase in life. See you all soon!
Thanks for your introduction Dana. The team at Breast Cancer Now are very much looking forward to meeting you ![]()
Morning everyone,
I’m Jo, I’m 42 I live in East Sussex, and I’m on the train now on my way!
See you all soon
My train has just been terminated, I’m now panicking a little bit because I’m going to be late and I promise I am never normally a late person
Hi Jo, please don’t worry about being late, relax and we’ll see you when you get here ![]()
Hey All,
I’m not sure anyone will see this now. I disappeared early as my little ones needed me (probably as much as I needed them!)
it was wonderful to observe so many wonderful individuals grow in presence and identity.
If you want to connect or learn my story it is available on instagram under _bwj91.
I’d love to connect with all that attended.
MASSIVE thank you to Michelle & Becky who got me home safe and sound and being two incredible faces of breast cancer now.
