Hello,
Feedback has said it can be helpful to talk on the Forums beforehand and this thread is a chance for you to say hello and “meet” others attending the event. I will check in and if you have any questions do let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
Look forward to meeting you next weekend
Becky (Secondary breast cancer services manager at Breast Cancer Now)
Hi,
I’m Jo and will be travelling down from Perth. I was diagnosed with BC in August 2025 and then with Secondaries in Oct 2025. I don’t need to explain the shock and how things have changed. I’m not great at online forums like this and have been more of an observer. I’m looking forward to the event in Leeds next week but I’m also anxious about it too. Maybe because it’s another step in facing this diagnosis and putting myself out there a bit. I think I’ve spent the last year just getting on with it as best as I can.
Hoping to find more people to talk to and learn more about how to manage this disease.
Thanks for introducing yourself Jo. The Breast Cancer Now team look forward to meeting you. Hope you have a smooth journey from Perth.
Hi, I’m Delphine. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Xmas eve 25 and confirmed it has spread to my spine in January. I started Ribociclib in February but I developed a genetic mutation and my cancer has now spread to my sternum. I have just started Fulvestrant and Capi. It’s all a bit overwhelming and would be nice to meet others in similar situation. I feel that I need to be strong for my children and husband, but would be nice to have just myself to worry about for few days.
Looking forward to meeting everyone

Hello, I’m Emma from Wiltshire ![]()
I was first diagnosed in 2023 then with secondary in lung and liver in 2025.
I’m looking forward to the event but a bit nervous - I get a lot of fatigue, and I am also autistic, so I can get a bit overwhelmed with socialising.
I hope that doesn’t stop me from making connections with you guys.
See you soon x
Thanks for the introduction Emma. As mentioned you can take time out whenever you need. Staff will be available to assist in any way if that is helpful. Look forward to meeting you.
Hi everyone, I’m Laura. I’ll be travelling from Bedfordshire for the event.
I was diagnosed de novo at the end of April this year, which came as a complete shock. It had already spread to my spine and liver. I haven’t met any young people going through this yet, so I am looking forward to sharing and hearing experiences and advice. I have 2 very young children (3 & 5), so I’m also looking forward to a couple of days rest. I’m her2 positive, with some ER, on phesgo, denosumab, and about to start hormone treatment.
See you in a couple of days!
Welcome Laura, we look forward to meeting you. Hope you’re journey from Bedfordshire goes smoothly.
Hi Delphine, So sorry to hear what you have been going through. I wish you a good pathway back to health.
I do not respond well to drugs so had to find different ways and it was hard and also frightening. I think we all have to look where we can for our health, so mine was not so conventional. Now I have stretched my mind even further and am on a doctor led integrative oncology course for my health. So I no longer come on here so often now. Always have to go with our feelings of this most important issue that hits us women.
