Boosters

Hi,I’m 8 rads in of 20 .The first 5 were boosters to the tumour bed I was wondering if this is unusual as most people seem to have them at the end .Just curious really .

Hi Suzy. Not sure on that one as mine are at the end. I am also 8 in and feeling all ok at the minute are you? I am sure someone out there will let you know if they had here’s first. Have a good weekend

Yes Gill all ok so far but I guess it’s still early days .Lashings of aloe vera gel going on and hoping to avoid too much burn .

Hi ,I did ask the radiographer today .Am non the wiser he just said that’s the prescription so he ho on we go 9 down 11 to go .

Hi Camilla. The difference between normal and the booster is the normal rads are for the whole breast area where the 5 booster will be targeted to the tumour bed. These are often shorter session. The area where the boosters are aimed at will be a darker shade to the ready of the boob. I am 8 days post rad and itchy, warming up a bit and a tiny bit of skin break down under the breast. This is old skin coming off with new underneath bit sore but not to bad and been advised to stop putting cream on that area. Also something to check when applying the cream. Go round you back a bit as I have marking there also just near the shoulder blade. Not the best place to keep dry in this weather but have a hanky between bra and skin so air can get in. Hope this helps

I ended up being rely fanatical about how long my sessions lasted. My normal zap was 25 seconds from the left and 28 seconds from the right (to my right breast) and the booster was 58 seconds in one hit.
Gawd knows why I did it but at least i knew when I was cooked!!!
5 days since rads finished and just a little sore but nothing that Im worried about.
Hows everyone doing??
