Hi Nat,
I shall be there! Im looking forward too it although havent yet booked that weekend off work cause i dont go back until Dec 20th so seems a bit cheeky to be booking leave just yet!! lol Im hoping it will be a fun weekend in addition to informative. Are you from Bournemouth? xx
Hi Deed
No I’m coming from Essex - i fancied a weekend by the seaside! Apparently most venues have a pool so I’ll be bringing my swimming costume. Looks like you are at the same stage as me, I was diagnosed in March & returned to work a month ago, which was exhausting - be warned!
Look forward to seeing you
xx
I think I’d like to go to one of these but maybe not while I’m still doing chemo. Hopefully there will be some later next year.
Hiya Nat,
I was diagnosed in February. I returned briefly in the summer but then had more surgery. I cant wait to go back but worried about the tiredness. I only have 4 shifts and then im off to Barbados on Dec 28 to get marrried!!! The hotel that the forum does have a swimming pool, its actually a really nice hotel. Have you chosen the work shops that you are interested in?
Notts girl, im not sure how often they have these forums but i was told that they were brilliant so even if you dont get on one at the beg of next year its prob worth keeping an eye out.

Thanks Lucy
I’ll keep checking back after chemo is finished in March.
Hi there
I am 47, so would I be eligible? I seem to fall between “younger woman” and “normal age group”?
I feel I should belong to the younger group as mentally I don’t feel 47!
SJ xx
Hi SJ, Im 42 and going! I dont think it actually stipulates anywhere how old “younger” is. It might be worth calling the helpline and asking them? would be good to see you on the 28th Jan.

Hi,
I am going . Sarah.xxx
Hi there!
Do they recommend not going when on chemo? I was thinking about doing the 1 day London forum as it is perfectly timed for the end of a cycle and only 1 day, maybe as nottsgal mentions, waiting will be better…would be good to meet some people face to face.

Hi Ladies,
I’m 38 and can’t go on the London one as it wil be day 5 post tax 3 and I know I’ll be pants! But the Bournemouth one suits much better!
Would be great to meet up people of similar ages…
I was dx 25th Sept, had lumpectomy and is now having 4-6 C+tax.

Hi Sarah,
Sorry you have joined the “club”, you’re very brave being on this site having only been dx 2 weeks ago, it took me weeks to just get my head around it all!!

Hi Sarah,
We had not long moved house before DX so dont really know many people where i am so since DX this site has been a godsend to me, my BCN recommended it.
How are you doing at the mo ?
Sarah.xx
Hi Sarah,
Yes i know what you mean, its great to talk to other woman who are going through similar experiences!
Im doing OK, I had my head shaved tonight, one of my friends who is a hair dresser came over to do it for me. I had my 1st lot of chemo 2 weeks ago and my hair decided enough was enough on Tuesday and i’ve been malting like a dog!! I think loosing my hair has been one of the hardest things for me, i had lovely long brown hair and i loved it, i would have never of had it cut before BC. I have my 2nd lot of chemo on Tuesday so will be pants over christmas
What operation are you having? How were you dx, did you find a lump?
I found a lump and went to docs and got referred for a mamograme, they then said that the lump was a harmless cyst but they had spotted something in the other breast, so my bc was discovered before it was even a lump. But given my age and it was grade 3 they recommended i have chemo and rads after my lumpectomy. They were unsure whether or not i would have to have chemo it wasn’t discussed until after the surgery so i thought i may escape it, but hey ho, a bit of me thinks well i need to throw everything at it so here i am…
Oh the joys of life ![]()

Hiya Sarah,
how weird, thats the same as me, I found lump in RB & was told harmless but they had found one in LB not harmless, didnt even know it was there :(am having wle/snb on Xmas Eve, its quite small approx 19 mm so they are thinking poss no chemo just rads but will know more after surgery, is yours invasive ductal ? Idont know grade/stage yet but BCN told me yesterday i had low grade something in situ in some of the breast tissue aswell, she said not to worry as this is normal ??
Am really worried about Xmas Day, more for the children. Sarah .xxx
Mine was small also 11mm. A mixture of DCIS (Ductual cancer in situ-non-invasive) but some also Grade 3 invasive (which is why i needed chemo). I had wle and 5 nodes removed (all clear). I woudn’t worry too much about the non-invasive cells as these can be cut away and no chance of spread…
I know what you mean about xmas, its a pants time to have your op, but at least you can relax at home with your family around you.
