I had a lumpectomy (and chemotherapy and rt) last year, all clear now and starting to get over the anxiety, but the arrival of the warm weather has made me realise how lop sided I am. Years ago you used to get small foam inserts when you bought a bra for if you wanted a bit extra but now all I can find available are ‘chicken fillets’ made of silicone which seem to promise a page 3 profile - not what I want at all, does anyone have any experience of them, are they better than they look. How have others got around the problem of one D cup and one B/C cup.
I have been using washable breastfeeding pads, though those might be too small for you. They can be ordered through Boots and some bigger Boots may stock them. Someone sent me a link to the American Cancer Society’s catalogue: they do pads with a fibre filling. You get them a bit big and then pull out any excess. I tried to find something similar here, but haven’t had any luck so far.
Amoena, which does post surgery bras and similar items, has something called a Priform which isn’t too expensive and which might be what you are looking for. Some of their other products are very expensive.
If you find something good, please let me know!

I had the same problem. Try Amazon, and search for Silicone Sally. They sell not only chicken fillets, but also whole boob prostheses in different sizes and shapes. Prices seem reasonable, and the look I end up with is much better than without.
my bcn gave me a whole boob prostheses as i have 1 dd and 1 c cup so needed something and that was just after a wle
I had a WLE a couple of weeks ago and one left boobie is much larger than the right, in fact they’ve always been a bit lopsided, ie the right one has never filled the bra cup and I’ve had material folding inwards etc, not a good look under a nice top is it. Now its a lot worse, I have my first appointment with my Oncologist next Thursday re the way forward, I’m wondering should I mention it then or phone my breast nurse ?
Yes, I’ve got a similar prob. and bought some breast enhancers - (“chicken fillets”) from Sillicone Sally online. They were £9, I think. They look good and very natural, but are rather sweaty!! (Sorry!). There is more info. on the “Looking Good/Appearance” thread, started on here recently. Not sure of the exact title, sorry.
All the best, Sarah.
After having a recon on my left breast in Nov (no implant) I needed something to even me up while I wait for lipo fill. I find the chicken fillet/bust enhancers from Peacocks @£5 for a pair really good they sit nicely in sports bras and padded ones… I started of using both and now only one as my boob has now moved round and dropped into place. Having lipo fill on 20th May - hope to not need any soon!!! (may have to have two lots but I will get there!)
I have had a very comfortable silicone “chicken fillet” or secret shaper provided by the hospital, following a lumpectomy which has left me lopsided. A BCN spent a long time finding a good fitting one and I now have a “lovely matching pair” again. Don’t find it sweaty at all.
Phone your BCN and ask about it, you shouldn’t have to buy any.
I had a WLE, losing about a quarter of my 36FF breast. Noticed that my bra on the BC side did not lie right and my boob rubbed on the cup and got sore. My breast care nurse has given me a “chicken fillet” and it does the job perfectly. Marli xx
There is a company called Womanzone in Warrington,Cheshire and they do Prostheses that are like a hollowed out orange skin that fit over your boob and fill out your bra if you are lopsided. They also do made-to- measure swimwear and they are great. They have a mail-order catalogue and do some nice bras too. Hope that helps.
Thanks for these links ladies, they have helped me very much. I am such an awkward shape a
dd cup, but hardly any cleavage as my boobs are wide with hardly anything under my arm. My prothesis is comfortable and fits nicely the trouble is my own one is steadily going south (just an age thing) I have been wearing looser tops, but they make me feel frumpy. Now I am thinking of investing in a chicken fillet to give me a bit of a boost.
Any advise or tips would be welcome.
Well I went for it & order from Silicone Sally I let you know how it goes.
