I’m struggling to find a comfortable bra following lumpectomy and SNR. I’m three weeks post surgery. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
I bought m & s post surgery bras, the wide band and soft sides worked well for me and you don’t pay VAT on them.
Good luck
I got mine in Sainsbury’s, super comfortable with front zip fastening, I slept in mine too, I still wear mine a year later as they are so much more comfortable than a bra.
I’ve got loads of the M+S ones in 3 different styles . The hook up up the front one gives the best support . I also sleep in a Proskins crop top which has the added benefit of moisturising your skin. Nicola Jane have a good range and not too pricey also.
Hope you find something that suits

Hi lilylou, I like my sloggi zero feel bralette ex which is totally seamless and extremely comfortable. It has pockets in both cups with a soft insert but also room to add a comfie breast form. Luv Tulip x
Hi Lilylou
I bought the Macom front fastening post surgery bras, have found them to be very comfortable after lumpectomy and axillary clearance, think the compression helped me feel supported
Xx
Hi lilylou
I bought M&S bras, both bra tops and post surgery bras which had front fastening and that worked well for me.
Hi Lililou, I got my bras for post lumpectomy from M&S. The lovely lady with pink ribbon on her badge goe me measured and found the right bra at the time that was most comfortable. I have been back 6 months later and got measured for a sports bra. Same excellent service.
Hope you find the right bra for you, as it makes such a difference to feel comfortable and supported.
Best wishes Katharine
I had a mastectomy ,I like the twin pack of bras from matalan t shirt bras .
I take the wire out and add a Velcro square to hold my softy in my bra .
I tried all different one I found everything uncomfortable most off the time I just don’t wear bras I find more comfortable without one on now. X
Hi Lilylou
It’s it great that you’ve had lots of replies. I grabbed a few Asda front zip up sports bras. They worked for me and I’ll still bob one on rather than go braless lounging about at home.
I do find that my proper falsie does droop in them. Softies are fine though.
Hope you get comfy soon
Like Kanapka87 I didn’t find one that was comfortable so went braless until my scars had healed properly. I am a 36F so not a pretty sight. I think it depends on where your scars are. Mine are on the outer extremity and the whole length of the breast so everything rested on that site and the lymph nodes site.
I’m having more surgery on 15th January so have booked an appointment at M&S to see if they can recommend something suitable. They are going in through the same scar so I will be able to judge the fitting. Hope that you find something that is comfortable. x
Hi
That’s what i liked about the Macom ones I got as my two scars sat within the cup or under the edge under the armpit . I also had two surgery’s under the armpit going through the same scar for full node removal. I’m a 32E so not as big as you and rubbing under the armpit was really uncomfortable with some that sit right on the scar line.
Good luck with the 2nd surgery
Sending hugs

M&S do some post surgery camis and bras, you could them a go. You get the tax back off them too. X
Thank you all for your advice. From this I have managed to buy some comfortable bras. I am very grateful. Sadly, following my pathology results I am now due to have more surgery but at least I know I will be comfortable this time.
Hope your next surgery goes well
Xx
