Bra riding up after double mastectomy

Hello everyone. After a second mastectomy with no reconstruction last April, I’ve been having a lot of trouble with my bra riding up. I’ve looked on line for solutions and found there are a lot of us out there with the same problem. Well… I finally found something that keeps my bra where it is supposed to be. I bought in amazon “maternity belly suspenders”. I placed one end in the middle of my bra ( in between the breasts with the prosthesis already in) and the other at the waist of my pants and It worked!!! Unless you wear very tight clothing it does not show thru the clothes.

I hope this helps some of you that are going thru the same problem.

Well, that seems a neat solution to a problem I am sure many here have.

I am flat on one side, but don’t use a prosthetic. I do have a problem sometimes with my bra riding up tight under my remaining breast. I might look into this method of holding my bra in place.

Hi, same problem here, different solution that I thought I’d share in case it is of use to others. I tried an elastic strap between the bra and the trouser waist (in my case an ironing board cover clip) but it pulled the trousers up rather than the bra down! It occurred to me that the shoulder straps are pulling the bra up but what holds it down normally is the weight of the breasts and the fact that they are more or less fixed to the body wall. So, I’ve been putting weights in the cups. Plastic bags filled with red lentils!! Works a treat. My implants (taken out last week :sob:) weighed 350g each so I started with 250g lentils in each side and am reducing by 50g daily until I get to the point where it starts to ride up again, at which point I will know what weight of prosthesis I will need to buy to solve the problem for the long term. Under a heavy jumper (it’s February, after all) they really don’t look bad and they’re comfortable. My husband’s idea, and a really good one I think.
