just finishing 10 radiotherapy sessions, have felt ok throughout, but short time memory now not good .I have no ballance still and wondered when this may get better.I have been told I will lose hair but this happenings about 3 weeks after treatment. I seem to have more questions than answers right now. So anyone who has been through this advise would be great
Hi and well done for completing your radiotherapy! I’m on no. 5 today out of 10 - has felt like quite a long slog so far … I am really really tired already! They said to me my hair would start to fall out after about 10 days in a kind of circular fashion (whatever that means). I didn’t really have any symptoms from the outset so not sure if I feel better or worse … I know I can still feel something behind my eye which I don’t like very much and was hoping may have reduced by now. Apparently the radiotherapy keeps on working for weeks after you finish treatment and your symptoms may seem worse at first then will start to improve? If it helps I spoke to a senior radiographer the other day and she said that there are lots more options out there for us now and whole brain radiotherapy doesn’t rule out surgery, gamma knife or tomotherapy in the future. She also recommended it may be worth seeing a nurospecialist at some point? Also saw an article today on a new stem cell treatment which looks promising for the future!
