Bras - following recon

ladies, I had by LD flap recon 4yrs ago and still have probs with getting a comfy bra. I usually end up wearing an expander strap at the back so I can loosen it during the day, if it feels too tight on the side of the recon. my bra always goes to one side too, never stays central because my natural breast is fuller than the recon. does anyone have any tips about bras etc as I dont need a post surgery bra really as I am 4yrs down the line now.

thanks for any advice, Vezza xxx

Hi, bumping this up the list for you. I still can’t wear a bra 21 wks post MX so wearing hidden support vests and Tesco crop top (£5 & more padding than Sloggi double comfort top so can’t see only one nipple). Some people recommend genie bras but I’ve seen mixed reviews and be careful if ordering from Amazon as they may be fakes. Hope this helps.

Hi I had an LD flap recon in June last year. Once I’d been allowed to stop wearing sports bras I went to M&S and got fitted for some non-wired bras. The best of a bad bunch seemed to be their Tshirt bras. They have been okay but at times have cut in around the skin on my recon side.
seven weeks ago I had another op to have an implant added to my recon as it had shrunk so much. This new super improved boob is bigger than before so I popped back to M&S to see if I could find anything that would be more comfy. They now do a non-wired padded plunge bra for £16 which seems to be more generous on the back sizing.I have to say that they are very comfortable and although my consulant has given me the go ahead to wear underwired bras again I’m in no hurry!
