BRCA1 gene

Hi
Just been told I have this gene but it hasn’t caused cancer in the breast but in the liver and pancreas. I need more information!!

I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through - I’m sure hearing that has come as a massive shock and is a lot to process.

I would really recommend posting your question in our Ask our Nurses your questions - Breast Cancer Now forum topic, as our nurses will be able to give you much more information. You can also reach them by calling 0808 800 6000 and they’ll be able to talk you through what you’ve been told.

As you say your cancer is in your liver and pancreas, you might find it helpful to contact MacMillan as well for support and information as they will be able to give you specialised advice to those cancers. You can reach MacMillan on 0808 239 14 92.
