BRCA2 & Pancreatic Cancer Screening Guidelines

Hi,

 

Wondering if any BRCA2’s on here are getting pancreatic cancer screening?

 

NICE guidelines recommend Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) or MRCP for BRCA mutation carriers (frequency not specified).

 

Pancreatic Cancer risk is higher for BRCA2 (10% lifetime risk I believe).

 

I dont expect my GP to know much about this, so I would really appreciate if others can share their experience of screening/risk mitigation.

Hi Anne,

Thank you for your post. I’m BRCA2 and don’t know anything about pancreatic screening; its something I’d like to know more about as an aunt died of pancreatic cancer.  I will do some research, in the meantime if you find out any more about it please post an update.
