Brca2 risk reducing surgery

I’m not sure if it’s ok for me to use this site as I don’t have breast cancer… I have had bowel cancer and ovarian cancer ( both primary 3 and half years apart) there is a strong history of breast cancer in my family so my oncologist advised me to consider brca testing.  I did and was found to be positive for the brca2 gene mutation.  I finished chemo for ovarian cancer 1 year ago and am now going ahead with risk reducing bilateral mastectomy and immediate reconstruction. My surgery is likely to be within the next couple of months.  If anyone has any thoughts about things they wished they had known or any other insight I would appreciate your comments.  Many thanks M
