I am 23 years old, and for the last few months have noticed a change in one of my breasts, it seems to go a funny shape & the nipple inverts & feels very warm. I contacted my Gp as breast cancer does run in my family, to be told it’s probably nothing as I’m young! Is there anything I can do?

For your own piece of mind, I think you should go back to your GP and request a referral to your nearest breast clinic. While it would be a rare occurrence for breast cancer to be present in someone your age, this disease has no respect of age and can rear it ugly head at any point. I don’t mean to alarm you by saying this, but think it will save you a lot of worry by seeing a specialist rather than your GP alone. All the best and take care Ann x x x
I would get a 2nd opinion, it’s better to know exactly what it is which they can find out at the breast clinic. I found a huge lump between my breast & armpit, my doctor referred me to the breast clinic where I seen a consultant who has booked me in for an urgent scan. I’m only 25 so glad they are still taking it seriously. Keep seeing your GP until they investigate it properly, it’s no fun worrying.

Go back and explain your concern, no woman shiuld be denied a proper check, at any age, especially if you are feeling concerned. im 23 too and had an urgent referral 4 weeks ago. Thankfully I have the all clear. There are good GPs who will listen, I hope you find one. Xx
Ask to go to be referee my doc told me the same thing I’m 26 but the breast doctor told me I was right for pushing it xx
