Hi, Yesterday I rang my oncs secretary to get an earlier appointment as I had found what I thought were a couple of spots on my breast which have not gone away and had begun to feel more like tiny lumps. I’ve had a biopsy done this morning and have to wait 7 days for results but its looking suspicious. I have been on Tamoxifen for the past 7 months. I have liver, lung and bone secs and the Tamoxifen has been keeping them stable but my breast has been changing for months now but they have been reluctant to change my treatment as it was working on the major organs. Has anyone had anything similar?

Sorry, I can’t help but bumping up

Hi Lesley,
I’m afraid I can’t help as I haven’t had this happen but sorry you’re having to wait and worry. Sounds like they’ve been messing you about and it’s infuriating. Good luck with the results tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

Hi, Well I got my biopsy results today. The tiny lumps are cancerous and are oestrogen receptive, the same as my original cancer. As I am having mixed results from the Tamoxifen i.e. its keeping my liver, lung and bone mets stable but not my breast my onc has decided to change me to Aromasin but to carefully monitor my liver (I go back in 5 weeks) and to change to Xeloda if it doesn’t work. All a bit frightening but hope the right decision has been made. What did really upset me today was the comment he made ‘you’ve been quite affected and upset by all this’,I should bl***y well think I have and I’m sure he would be if it was happening to him.

Oh Lesley, I’m so sorry to hear about your spread to your boobs. It must be a terrible blow as you have to abandon tamoxifen and start another treatment. Sounds like he’s keeping a close eye on you, which is good, but I think he might need some training in ‘what not to say’!
Hugs to you
