Hi Sammie

Thanks for posting.

Its natural to wonder about your recovery after breast reconstruction using implants. Recovery after surgery varies from person to person and may also be influenced by your general health and fitness as well as the type of reconstruction You can read more about this in our information about what to expect after surgery. However, your treatment team will give you more specific information about what to expect at your hospital including information about pain relief.

Talking to someone who has had a similar experience can often be helpful. Our Someone Like Me service can match you with a trained volunteer who’s had a similar experience to you. You can be in touch with your volunteer by phone or email and they can share their personal experiences to answer your questions, offer support or simply listen to how you are feeling.

You can also connect with others by posting on this part of the forum

You can ring the Someone Like Me team on 0114 263 6490 or email them at someone.likeme@breastcancernow.org, so they can then match you to your volunteer.
