Breast implant issues with chemo and steroids

Hi,

I hope everyone is doing well. I just wondered if anyone who has had a mastectomy with immediate implant reconstruction has had any problems with the implant if then went on to have chemo? I was originally on Docetaxel and Carboplatin but this was stopped due to various reactions but the main one was my breast with implant because painful and red hot and went red. I had intravenous antibiotics for a few days. The odd thing was it seems to be related to the dexamethasone. I’ve been moved to weekly paclitaxel with just 8mg steroids on infusion day and boob slightly red and hot this morning! I have no temperature or anything. It’s all a bit odd. I will of course ring red card team if it continues but really don’t want to have to be on iv every week for 3 days between weekly doses. Had anyone else experienced any chemo/ implant or odd steroid issues. We’re running out of options with the chemo as I don’t want to lose the implant and chemo is supposed to just be belt and braces and so I can have Herceptin ( luckily it’s not the Herceptin as I had that on it’s own and boob was fine) Thanks in advance. Xxx
