Hi there I found a lump in my breast 2 weeks ago. Was seen by a consultant last Thursday who reassured me hugely when he said he didn’t think it was cancer, just some kind of nodule forming on the normal breast tissue.He told me not to worry, but booked me in for a mammogram and ultrasound in about a week and a half. Yesterday a lump appeared in my armpit, it’s about 2 cms long,red and very painful. I rang my GP and am booked in tomorrow. All the reassurance the consultant gave has now gone. I’m even more worried now. My hubby won’t really discuss it. Says he won’t until results are in and it’s obviously going to be ok. I’m 53 and more than a bit worried.
Hi Mandy ,very good chance this is something that has a none sinister explanation ,but until you have mammogram etc you are bound to worry .Partners / family really don’t want to contemplate the possibility that there may be something more worrying going on and that can be frustrating ,let us know how you get on ,fingers crossed you get good news .Jill.
