Breast lump and red rash

Hi there everyone, I found a lump in my breast around 4 fingers in size. I went to the GP and they thankfully saw me on the same day.
At the time my breast was not sore, red nor did I have a rash. Fast forward two days and it is extremely sore, breast seems double in size and it’s hot and had a rash on the area where the lump is.
I have been referred to the breast clinic for an urgent referral but I am not sure how long that will take. I’m worried that something ruptures or changes.
How can I self manage and reduce the swelling, reduce the rash in the meantime ?

Thank you for your help everyone!

Hi @fab2024

As there’s a change in your breast since your GP appointment I think it might be worth contacting your surgery again as heat and swelling could indicate infection which might need treatment . Xx

You should be seen within 2 weeks, chase it up if you’re not. Things usually move fairly quickly. I had surgery just 6 weeks after seeing my GP about a lump. All the best.
