Hey there… I’m curious if anyone has an experience like mine. I am 28 years old and noticed a lump in my right breast at least 6 months ago. I chalked it up to just being hard tissue or in my head. My husband also noticed this lump and I started to worry and made an appointment with my doctor who then referred me to a breast surgeon to check it out. The breast surgeon told me cancer was highly unlikely because of my age and told me it was probably a cyst. She felt it and told me it was about 2cm large and movable. She told me I could go in for an ultrasound to confirm it or she could do an aspiration to confirm it was a cyst. I agreed to an aspiration because I wanted to be done with it and stop having such crippling anxiety… however she was unable to get any fluid out and now I am stuck waiting for an ultrasound. I’m terrified that it could be breast cancer and I don’t know how to handle this.
Hi @sunshine337 !
Sorry that you have found yourself here but this is a very supportive group
Frustrating that they never did the ultrasound there and then? Did they not use an ultrasound to guide the aspiration? Fibrodenomas don’t aspirate and they are benign lumps. They are known as “breast mice” as they move when you try to feel them. Ultimately the only way you will know is via an ultrasound and biopsy.
Hopefully you will get your appointment through soon xx
