Breast Mouse?

Hi All,

A couple of weeks ago I found a moveable lump in my right breast, and went to the doctor who didn’t seem concerned and said it was more than likely a cyst and to come back in a month if it hasn’t disappeared (I am 22 years old). Well a month has passed and I went back to a differnent GP who felt the lump and described it as a ‘breast mouse’ I don’t really understand what was meant by this? It is important to note that both times I have seen a GP I have been on my period so could this be something which is hormone related possibly? I have to come back to the surgery in a week to see how it is then and I am extremely worried what would be the next steps if the lump is still there?

Sorry about all the questions but this seemed like a good place to ask them! :)

Many thanks x

Hi Chloe, a breast mouse is otherwise known as a Fibrodenema , a harmless moveable lump , I’ve had one although I didn’t know about it until I had a ultrasound when diagnosed with breast cancer , I had breast pain on and off for years which was always linked to my cycle and now know it was my Fibrodenema causing it, mine was deep in the centre of my breast so I hadn’t been able to feel it , they removed mine when I had my cancerous lump taken out and it was completely benign so please try not to worry , great that you are so pro active and got yourself checked out !
