Had a WLE for DCIS and SNB(nodes clear) 2 weeks ago. Scar line is tender but bearable but my nipple is incredibly sore. BCN thought this might be nerve pain. Has anyone experienced this, I know it is still early days but it is making me miserable…

had mine on Friday, so now at the itchy/sore stage, have dressings off this coming Friday, not sure how i will feel about seeing my breast without a nipple, probably be a few tears.Nipple on reduced side looks and feels ok, but has a big scar and stitches round it and feels a bit prickly, which i guess will pass.It also looks as if it’s oozing clear stuff, but when i try to gently wipe it away, it’s bone dry! what on earth is it??

I had my WLE and SNB on 18th October and yes my nipple is still very sore and has been since my op, I have told my breast care nurse about it and she didn’t seem too concerned. I keep having to adjust my boob to try and make it more bearable whilst wearing my bra.

Started Rads yesterday and already after the first session my boob is red, hope my nipple doesn’t get any worse, its starting to get me down.

Hi Marie,

Mine has started to settle down now, so hope this gives you hope that yours will too! Hope the radiotherapy doesn’t make things too sore. Have you used aqueous cream, I read that’s supposed to be soothing.

Hi,
I had a re-excision on 18th August and my nipple was painful for weeks afterwards, really tender and sore, but it had settled down by the start of Sept. Hope this helps.
