Hi, this is the first time I have joined a forum.
I was diagnosed with BC in left breast in 2017, had Lumpectomy plus radiotherapy and then Tamoxifen for 5 years. Been doing well except for a nipping feeling in left breast which was told it was nerve endings. Recently feeling got worse and my GP referred me to breast clinic where I got mammogram and ultrasound and was told I had scar tissue. The only thing that bothers me is if I turn a certain way the pain shoots through my breast and literally takes my breath away. The rest of the time I have good days and bad days when the scar tissue pulls a bit but painkillers help. Does anyone have the same problem
I had lumpectomy in 2015 and still get the odd shooting pain , my breast has been very tender ever since too. If it’s that painful may be worth asking GP if there any other avenues you could explore to help relieve it ? May also be worth posting a question about it in the Ask our Nurses your questions section or give them a ring ?

I’m off to the pain clinic tomorrow.
I can stretch out to reach for something I get like a snapping pain .
That makes me feel winded it’s on the side of my radiotherapy side .
They have checked it out ,they say it’s nerve damage.
My original treatment was in 2000.
Nerve pain is very tricky to get on top of , hope you get some advice that helps from pain clinic .
Hi Jill, I got in touch with Ask Nurse on this site and she said it was the scar tissue that can sometimes pull on the muscle behind the breast causing pain when certain movements. If pain gets any worse to get in touch with my GP.
Oh that’s good , it helps if you have some idea what’s causing it .I wonder if a physio could help in anyway ?
I will certainly look into it if pain gets any worse.
