Anyone else out there struggling with breast pain and been told all okay but NOT by the breast clinic?
II have had right breast discomfort/pain, under arm and arm ache for 7 months now. Been to the GP three times with a dismissal.
I am still getting it, albeit on and off, but every time it is there, I worry about cancer. I am 67 years old (well, 67 on Xmas Eve lol) but still fretting.
Really worried and cannot get into Christmas.

You are going to continue to worry until you get this checked out and to be honest so would I. Received wisdom says breast pain is not a sign of cancer but you are clearly concerned, you are post-menopausal so the pain isn’t anyting to do with your cycle, and I’d be inclined to push strongly for a referral to the breast clinic even if that means seeing a different gp. Once you have the referral you can have a mammogram and/or any other diagnostics and then you will know for sure whether you do have a problem, or whether it is a benign conditon or indeed none at all. You may have to be quite assertive and ask clearly for a referal and be prepared to repeat your request if they say it is nothing. I’m assuming your doctor did a breast examination and couldn’t feel anything? That does not replace a thorough diangostic test from the breast clinic. Good luck. xx
Hi bass player, definitely sympathize with you. I have seen doctors and had scans in the past due to a painful breast. This time it’s odd pains but a weird tingling towards my nipple, not had this before. No appointment to see doctor till 10th January :-/

They always blame mine on being hormones, I have been doing ok but this new feeling is worrying. I don’t know about you but it is literally like I am just so in tune with my boob I focus on every sensation.
I would take reassurance from the good scan results you had not too long ago, my last scan was a few years ago. I am 31 and so have not had a mammogram before only ultrasound. I could have seen a doctor sooner but was fussy over who I saw lol xx
I went to see my obgyn today and it was only for post op. I had uterine cancer , well he did a breast exam today and now I have an app with breast center for 6 lumps one isn’t painful but its more like tender. What should I expect , can this be a spread of the cancer ? Im really worried because if it is then I have to have chemo when before all I would have had is radiation. Im only 38 does that lower my risk of this being breast cancer
Hi, sorry that you have this worry and your anxiety must be worse due to past experience. The doctor is probably just being extra careful, they sound like possibly cysts but it’s best to get checked. There is a phone number on here where you can speak to a nurse, it may be good for you to do that and maybe help. Wishing you luck with your appointment xx
