Hope someone can advise me. Just had a mastectomy and I will have to make a decision about reduction on other breast. Consultant has advised this as to quote him your breasts are quite large for your height ( I am 5 feet) and feel I would cope better with a smaller prosthesis. Is this operation painful and were you satisfied wit the outcome?

Not quite the same as you but I had a bilateral therapeutic mammoplasty…in other words both breasts vastly reduced to include the equivalent of WLE otherwise I would have been very lopsided…so one breast had good tissue removed and the other the tumour and then rads on it. I am very pleased with the reduced breast - well both in fact but my silver lining was to end up with much smaller breasts that dont need a bra so no digging in at shoulders or backache! I have a scar that runs around my nipple and down from mid nipple to underneath in an anchor shape - three months on it has faded really well. The only downside is I have no sensation in my nipple however, it does respond to temperature change, touching etc so I dont really get why it feels numb - I hope sensation returns one day!
